Everything you need to know

Your questions,

No fluff. Real answers to the questions Calgary homeowners ask before booking an install.

Cost & Pricing

Most Calgary homes fall in the $3,000–$7,000 range installed. The final number depends on how many linear feet of roofline you want to cover, the complexity of the roofline, and any extras like a garage fascia or secondary roofline. We provide free detailed quotes — most come back within 24 hours. Request yours here →

No. You pay once — hardware plus installation. There are no ongoing subscription fees, no app licences, and no annual renewal charges. The system is yours outright.

No travel fees for any of our regular service areas — Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, or Strathmore. If you're outside these cities, contact us and we'll let you know.

We do offer financing options for qualified customers. Mention it in your quote request or bring it up when we follow up — we can walk you through the details.

The Hardware

We install individual RGBWW LED puck nodes spaced 8 inches apart inside a low-profile aluminium extrusion channel. The channel mounts flush along your roofline fascia board. Wiring runs discretely to a controller box that plugs into your home's exterior power. The result looks clean and architectural — nothing like temporary string lights.

Our system runs on 24V DC, which delivers better brightness, more consistent colour across long runs, and lower heat generation than 12V alternatives. At 24V, you get more efficient power delivery and less voltage drop — meaning the LEDs at the far end of a 150-foot run are just as bright as the ones near the power supply.

Our RGBWW nodes support 16 million colours plus warm white and cool white. You can display a single solid colour, multi-colour gradients, animated effects (chase, twinkle, breathe, wave, etc.), or holiday palettes — red-and-green for Christmas, orange for Halloween, red-and-white for Canada Day, blue-and-gold for Stampede, and so on.

Our LED puck nodes are rated for 50,000+ hours. Running them 8 hours per day every single day, that's over 17 years. In practice, most homeowners run them seasonally, so the hardware will likely outlast your ownership of the home.

Installation

Most residential installs are completed in a single day — typically 4–8 hours depending on roofline complexity and total footage. We arrive with everything needed, mount the system, run the wiring, connect the controller, and walk you through the app before we leave.

We can install on any combination of: front roofline, both sides, the back, or a full wrap of the entire home. We also do garages, covered porches, decks, and secondary rooflines. Most clients start with the front (and sometimes one or both sides) — a full wrap gives the most dramatic look.

No. The aluminium channel is surface-mounted to the fascia board — not the shingles. It's designed to be permanent but removable without damage if you ever want it taken off. Most homeowners never do.

Our systems connect to a standard exterior GFCI outlet. If your home already has one, no electrician is required. If you need one added, we can arrange that separately. Most Calgary homes already have the necessary outlet.

Yes — the system is modular and expandable. If you start with the front and want to add sides or a garage later, we can extend the run at any time. The controller supports multiple zones.

Winter Performance

Yes — this is exactly what the hardware is built for. Our puck nodes are rated IP68 (fully waterproof and dust-proof) and tested to −40°C. They handle Chinook freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snow loads, and ice without any problems. The lights stay up year-round — no seasonal removal required.

IP68 is the highest standard ingress protection rating. IP6X = fully dustproof. IPX8 = withstands continuous submersion in water. Together, IP68 means the unit is sealed completely against both dust and water — designed for outdoor permanent use in any climate.

No — that's the whole point. Permanent lighting stays up year-round. No ladders in November, no storage, no taking down in January. Just change the colour from your phone whenever you want.

Controlling the Lights

You control everything from your smartphone. The app lets you choose from hundreds of pre-built effects, schedule lights to turn on and off automatically (e.g., sunset to midnight), sync to music, set holiday timers, or pick any static colour. You can also use physical buttons on the controller if you prefer.

Yes. You can set the lights to turn on at sunset automatically (the app uses your location to calculate this), and turn off at any scheduled time — midnight, 11pm, whenever you prefer. You can also set different schedules for different days of the week or upcoming holidays.

At full brightness, yes — they're visible in daylight. But they're most impactful at dusk and evening. Most homeowners use the scheduling feature so lights come on automatically at sunset.
